Photographed this fellow getting some on the rocks in the Kannamangla lake. If my identification is correct, these are illegal in India and are from the USA. Maybe someone abandoned them in the lake because of legality?

Beautiful photo! Yep, that’s a red eared slider. I love turtles. Unfortunately, this species is invasive in Oregon where I live. People buy them as pets and when they no longer want to take care of them, they will dump them in a nearby pond or wetland. From here, they can start a new population (assuming there are both sexes present) and spread. Have a great day, my friend, and keep up the inspired work on your blog and photography 😊🐢
