Half Awake?

Did you know, birds are capable of sleeping with one eye open through a process known as unihemispheric slow-wave sleep (USWS). In USWS, only one hemisphere of the brain sleeps while the other remains awake, allowing one eye to stay open and alert for predators or environmental threats. This adaptation is essential for bird survival, especially in risky or exposed environments.
